Frequently Asked Questions

General
Who started BeerOps?

BeerOps was started by Stephen J Wallace and Gerhard Schweinitz.

What is BeerOps?

Founded in 2014 by Stephen J Wallace and Gerhard Schweinitz, BeerOps began in Sydney as a networking event for DevOps professionals, blending practical tech discussions with relaxed social connection over sponsor-funded bite ’n beverage.

Its distinctive format quickly gained momentum, expanding to Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and now Canberra as its fifth city. BeerOps is held annually in each city and has become a recognised fixture in the Australian IT community.

Today, attendees are typically professionals working across AI, data, cyber, DevOps and systems automation.

What is ExecOps?

ExecOps is BeerOps’ senior executive networking format, designed for technology leaders, CxOs, senior decision-makers and strategic partners.

It focuses on executive-level conversations around technology strategy, leadership, innovation, AI, data, cyber, digital transformation and business growth, in a more curated environment.
